WHAT DOES IT COST?

Australian residents

The UHS bills Medicare directly  for the cost of most consultations. ‘Direct billing’ or ‘bulk billing’ means you do not pay the Health Service any money or present an account or receipt to Medicare or to your family.
Bring your current valid Medicare Card  with you each time you come.

 
Overseas students

The UHS bills Worldcare Overseas Student Health Cover for overseas students for the cost of most consultations. ‘Direct billing’ or ‘bulk billing’ means you do not pay the Health Service money or present an account or receipt to Worldcare or to your family.
Bring your current valid  Worldcare Overseas Student Health Cover Card to the Health Service with you each time you come.
Students with Overseas Student Health Cover from other companies will need to pay for the consultation and claim from their insurer.

Students are advised to obtain their own cards in the interests of their convenience & privacy.

The University Health Service is required to charge for consultations where there is no current card, or the card number cannot be validated with Medicare (Medicare validation hours are 9.30 am to 4.30 pm).

There is a charge for most vaccines.

Payment is generally expected at the time of consultation.

The University Health Service accepts payment by all major credit cards, EFTPOS, cash or cheque.
